Purpose of the Job

Doceree is seeking a hands-on Director of HR Operations and HRIS to lead the functional implementation and operationalization of Workday and build the scalable HR infrastructure needed to support our continued growth.

Initially, this role will focus heavily on the successful design, implementation, launch, and stabilization of Workday. The Director will translate business and HR requirements into well-designed processes, system workflows, controls, data standards, operating procedures, and user experiences. This individual will work closely with HR leadership, Finance, IT, business stakeholders, global partners, and the Workday implementation team to ensure that the platform is configured to support both current needs and future growth.

Following implementation, the Director will assume ongoing responsibility for HRIS governance and optimization, HR operational governance, compliance infrastructure, workforce data integrity, reporting, and process excellence.

This is a highly visible, hands-on Director-level position. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, making thoughtful recommendations, documenting a detailed process, reviewing data, developing test scripts, resolving implementation issues, and helping the organization prepare for go-live.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Implementation & Launch

  • Lead the functional implementation, launch, and stabilization of Workday

  • Translate HR and business requirements into scalable system and process solutions

  • Lead process discovery, data migration, testing, UAT, documentation, training, change management, and go-live readiness

  • Partner with implementation consultants and internal stakeholders on workflows, integrations, security, reporting, and configuration

HR Process Design & Operational Excellence

  • Design and optimize scalable, consistent processes across the employee lifecycle

  • Establish clear process ownership, controls, approval workflows, service standards, and escalation paths

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve efficiency, and strengthen the employee experience

HRIS Governance & Optimization

  • Establish and lead the ongoing Workday governance and change-management framework

  • Oversee system enhancements, testing, security, integrations, releases, and vendor relationships

  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation, analytics, and responsible AI to improve HR service delivery

HR Operational Governance

  • Build and maintain HR policies, procedures, controls, and documentation standards

  • Establish clear accountability across HR, Finance, IT, Legal, business leaders, and external partners

  • Drive consistent HR operations across departments, locations, and employee populations

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Build and maintain HR compliance processes, controls, and audit-ready documentation

  • Partner with HR leadership and Legal to translate regulatory requirements into practical processes and system controls

  • Support multistate compliance and identify operational risks and remediation opportunities

Data Governance, Reporting & Analytics

  • Establish standards for workforce data accuracy, security, privacy, and integrity

  • Develop reliable HR dashboards and reporting for leadership and business stakeholders

  • Partner with Finance on workforce data, headcount reporting, organizational planning, and future workforce analytics

Qualifications - Experience, Skills & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

  • Significant progressive experience in HR Operations, HRIS, HR Technology, or a related function

  • Demonstrated experience leading a Workday implementation or major Workday deployment

  • Strong functional knowledge of Workday and the relationship between HR processes, data, workflows, security, reporting, and integrations

  • Experience with data migration, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and HR data governance

  • Experience designing HR processes, operating procedures, controls, and governance frameworks

  • Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes and employment compliance

  • Experience developing testing strategies, UAT plans, and issue-resolution processes

  • Strong project management skills across multiple workstreams, stakeholders, risks, and deadlines

  • Experience managing implementation partners and HR technology vendors

  • Workday certification or formal Workday implementation training is a plus

  • Experience implementing Workday in a global, multistate, multi-entity, or high-growth organization is highly desirable
